Just five years ago, we didn’t have a girls programme; fast forward to 2022 and we have three teams in the Reddish recreational leagues and girls training sessions from Year seven to eleven.  

Part of our club constitution is to “promote equal opportunities for all players, regardless of gender, ethnicity and background”, so it was really important for us to increase the opportunities for girls.  Head Coach Rob Park was the driving force, and set the ball rolling five years ago.  We’re now very fortunate to have a further five coaches helping with the girls programme; Coaches Nathan, Mark, Zack, Debbie and Ciaran. 

Any news about our girls basketball programme wouldn’t be complete without a shout out for Coach Mike and the ever-popular Ladies session on Sunday mornings.  Mike introduced the ladies session when we first started Sunday sessions, and it’s been a hit ever since.
